Lunch stop in Midelt. Continue south through the Ziz Valley — vast palm groves and fortified ksars — to Erfoud at the Sahara's edge. A 4x4 transfer brings you to Erg Chebbi, where camels wait to carry you over the dunes at sunset. Arrive at a luxury camp with en-suite private tents, Berber music and dinner under a star-crammed sky.

Short but breathtaking walk through the Todra Gorges, then on to Dades Gorge for a relaxing evening at a comfortable local hotel with dinner and a peaceful sleep amid the canyon walls.

Stop in Ouarzazate, then lunch in Aït Benhaddou with time to explore the UNESCO site (Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, Game of Thrones).
